Freewheeling Fridays - Walk, Talk & Coffee
$10.00

A women-only pop-up morning walk along the beautiful Te Awa River Trail at Lake Karapiro. Fresh air, great conversation and a well-earned coffee afterwards. Come as you are, leave feeling great. Friday 19th June, 7:00am.

About the Adventure

Freewheeling Fridays is a women-only pop-up morning walk designed for one thing — a genuinely good start to the weekend.

No pressure, no performance, just fresh air, good company and great coffee on one of New Zealand's most beautiful trails.

Whether you're a regular walker or just looking for a reason to get outside, this is your kind of morning.

You'll leave feeling better than when you arrived and probably already looking forward to the next one.

Activity / Fitness Level

This walk is suitable for all fitness levels. The Te Awa trail is a flat, wide and paved trail with no technical sections or need for special footwear beyond a comfortable pair of walking shoes.

If you can walk to a café, you can do this walk. We move at a pace that keeps everyone together and no one gets left behind.

Cost

NZD $10 per person, which includes your post-walk hot drink or beverage at The Podium Café.

Payment is taken at the time of booking.

Option to stay on for breakfast is available at your own expense.

Your Host — Sharon Evans

I'm Sharon, a Waikato-based adventure guide and the woman behind Freewheeling Kiwi. I've led women through the Himalayas, walked the length of New Zealand and spent more Friday mornings than I can count outside when I probably could have stayed in bed and I've never once regretted it.

Freewheeling Fridays is my way of bringing that same love of movement, fresh air and good company a little closer to home.

I'd love to walk with you 💚

Karen's testimonial from the Kauaeranga Valley Reset & Recharge Walk
  • Not at all. This is a relaxed, social walk at a comfortable pace. All fitness levels welcome.

  • Comfortable walking shoes and warm layers — it's an early Friday morning in the Waikato! A light rain jacket is always a good idea in winter.

  • Karapiro Domain. The exact meeting point will be emailed to you two days before the walk so keep an eye on your inbox.

  • Yes — this is a women-only event. It creates a relaxed, easy space where everyone can show up as themselves.

  • We're Kiwis — we walk in most weather! If conditions are genuinely unsafe, registered participants will be notified by email as early as possible.

  • Absolutely — the more the merrier. Just make sure they book their own spot as spaces are limited.

  • Group walks aren’t a suitable environment for pets, please leave them at home.

  • Absolutely! I’ll personally be drinking green tea and you can order which ever beverage you prefer.
