The Routeburn Track is one of the NZ Great Walks. Come with me on this EPIC three day, two night SOLO adventure, hiking from the Routeburn Shelter to Lake Howden before leaving the Routeburn Track and joining the Greenstone Track / Caples Track.

⏮ From: Routeburn Track starting at the Routeburn Shelter near Glenorchy, Central Otago

⏭ To: Lake Howden, on the Routeburn Track.

⛺️ Accommodation: $68 per night. DOC Hut, shared bunk room.

👏 Difficulty: Intermediate Great Walk / Easier Tramping Track

🥾Distance: The full Routeburn Track from the Routeburn Shelter to The Divide is 33km. I turned off at Lake Howden and continued on to the Greenstone Track so completed around 30km of the Routeburn Track.

Subjective feeling out of 10 on:

Enjoyment: 8/10 loved this walk.

Fatigue: 9/10 very long days

Ease of terrain: 3/10 tough with the weather
