🌱 Reset. Recharge. Begin Again

Hello friends,

April in Aotearoa feels like a collective exhale. The heat has softened, the light has turned golden, and the bush is easing into its autumn rhythms.

There is something about this season that naturally invites us to pause, take stock, and ask ourselves what we actually need right now.

For me, that question has always been answered by the same thing: time outside. Time walking. Time in the quiet company of trees and birdsong and the steady beat of footsteps on a trail.

This month I am so excited to share something new, something I have quietly been wanting to create for a long time.

It is small, intentional, and I think it might be exactly what some of you need too. Read on. 🌿

πŸ‚ What Autumn Teaches Us on the Trail

There is a particular kind of clarity that arrives when you walk in autumn. The tracks are quieter. The air is crisp and honest. The landscape is doing something remarkable, letting go with extraordinary grace.

I have been thinking a lot lately about what long trails teach us that everyday life simply cannot.

Walking Te Araroa β€” all 3,000 kilometres of it β€” showed me that the most profound resets do not come from grand gestures. They come from sustained, unhurried time in nature. From putting one foot in front of the other, day after day, until the noise falls away and something essential becomes clear again.

You do not need to walk from Cape Reinga to Bluff to experience that kind of shift. But you do need space. Quiet enough, and long enough, to hear yourself clearly again.

πŸ‘Ÿ On the Trail with Merrell NZ

A quick mention to my friends at Merrell, who I am delighted to confirm are continuing as my footwear and apparel partner throughout 2026. If you have seen me out on trail looking vaguely presentable despite the mud and the mileage, they are largely responsible for that. πŸ˜„

I only ever recommend gear I genuinely use and trust, and after years of Merrell on my feet across New Zealand, Nepal and beyond, that trust is well earned.

If you are kitting out for the Reset and Recharge Walk, a Nepal trek, or simply your next weekend adventure, they are worth a look.

🌟 INTRODUCING: RESET AND RECHARGE WALKS

Something new. Something I think you are going to love.

Happy woman hiker standing by a stream and surrounded by New Zealand native forest

This is the announcement I have been most excited to share.

On Sunday 3 May, I am hosting the very first Reset and Recharge Walk. A small, intentional day in nature at the beautiful Kauaeranga Valley in the Coromandel Forest Park, Thames.

This is not a fitness challenge. It is not about pace or distance. It is about stepping out of the noise of everyday life and giving yourself a few hours to breathe, reflect, and reconnect β€” with nature, with others, and with yourself.

Here is how the day unfolds: we walk together at an easy, unhurried pace through one of the most beautiful valleys on the Coromandel. Along the way I will offer a few gentle prompts to encourage your thinking. Nothing heavy, simply an invitation to gain some clarity on what matters most right now. There will be time for quiet reflection and for the kind of honest, meaningful conversation that only seems to happen when you are moving through nature together.

You will leave lighter. With perspective. And with a renewed sense of direction.

The details:

  • πŸ“… Sunday 3 May 2026, 9am to 3pm

  • πŸ“ Kauaeranga Valley, Coromandel Forest Park, Thames

  • πŸ‘₯ Maximum 8 participants β€” intentionally small and personal

  • πŸ₯Ύ Gentle pace, suitable for most fitness levels

This is the first in what I intend to make a regular monthly series. If you have been craving a day that is entirely for you β€” this is your invitation to say yes.

πŸ‘‰ Reserve your place on the Reset and Recharge Walk

Spaces are strictly limited to 8. Once they are gone, they are gone.

πŸ”οΈ NEPAL TREKS β€” LAST CALL

Everest and Annapurna Base Camp β€” October/November 2026

A quick but important reminder β€” bookings for both Nepal treks are almost full and will be closing very soon.

With places nearly gone on both the Everest Base Camp πŸ”οΈ and Annapurna Base Camp 🏞️ treks, now is genuinely the moment to act if the Himalayas have been calling you.

These are not just trekking trips. They are life-changing journeys that challenge you, inspire deep reflection, and reveal what you are capable of when you step forward with curiosity and courage. The friendships formed on trail, the landscapes, the sheer scale of the mountains β€” there is nothing quite like it.

If you have been sitting on the fence, please do not wait any longer. I would love to have you on the trail with us.

πŸ”„ On Change, Transition and the Courage to Begin Again

Autumn is the season of transition. Not dramatic endings, not sudden new beginnings but that tender in-between space where one thing is releasing and another has not yet arrived.

Many of my coaching conversations happen in exactly this kind of season. Something has shifted β€” a role, a relationship, a chapter β€” and the question is not just what is next but who am I becoming in the process?

Change is rarely as tidy as we want it to be. Transition takes longer, requires more grace, and asks something deeper of us than simply adapting to new circumstances. It invites us to reflect on what we are leaving behind, what we want to carry forward, and what we might be ready to let go of entirely.

If you are in a season of change right now, you are not behind. You are not lost. You are simply in the middle of something that matters.
